Fear Of The Lord
When the Word speaks of those who have an ear to hear
It is speaking of those with Godly hearts, and Godly fear
There are those who say your name can't be blotted out
But the Word of God says only those who overcome, no doubt
Fear is to know Jesus, the Word, that leads the way
Trust in Him, fearing, and know it is with faith we obey
Is it your love of God, and wanting to draw near
With all our heart, soul, mind, and strength do we love
Has the wind from heaven flown into your heart like a dove
Would you give up all those things you've compiled
For the poor, hungry, naked, and those exiled
What is this fear, that we should shake and tremble to our bones
But to be zealous, thirsty, hungry, and with all strength, then He atones
The Word speaks how men teach fear by their precepts
It is with fear we only begin to understand, the spiritual concepts
God is His judgments, never shaken or to be changed
Please don't think you can know God without fear, you're deranged
Some think this fear is to look up and gaze into the sky
When the Word means to shake and tremble, fearing the Most High
Fear is taught these days almost as much as they teach about hell
Most don't understand, and to hear it preached, they won't tell
Paul told us to work out our salvation with trembling and fear
Most won't preach or teach this, but will only jeer
Understand this, if you follow these men
You're not a follower of Jesus, the Word put within
Jesus is Grace and Truth, and what did He teach
Only those who hear and do God's will can have a heavenly reach
We've been given the Word, the Bible to study
But now they preach it watered down and muddy
My hope is for my friends and family to arise and awake
Those who don't know You, and You they forsake
But also for the strangers God puts in my path
To tell all the Truth of His Love and His Wrath
For He is God, the God who has all things created
Loving those who love Him, but all evil ones He's truly hated
There is only one God, but we've been given our choices
Seek the true God, cry and tremble with repented voices
